Ingredients

Yield: 5 cup

  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • 1 cup chopped plain almonds
  • (optional) to taste dried fruit
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup shelled plain pumpkin seeds
  • ½ cup shelled plain sunflower

Preparation

Step 1

With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 160 °C (325 °F).

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine 3 cups rolled oats, 1 cup chopped plain almonds, ½ cup shelled plain pumpkin seeds, ½ cup shelled plain sunflower, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Add ½ cup maple syrup and ¼ cup canola oil and toss to combine.

Step 3

Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Cool completely. If desired, add to taste dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, blueberries, apricots, etc.). Store in an airtight container.
Note: This granola is great for breakfast or as a snack!
